Quick and Easy Dessert Recipe. It’s reasonably healthy too!
4 pears
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 375. Wash pears and cut in half. Cut a small sliver off the bottom so that pears will sit flat. Cut core out with teaspoon or melon baller and arrange cut side up on baking sheet. Sprinkle evenly with cinnamon. Whisk together maple syrup and vanilla extract and drizzle over the pears. Bake for about 25 minutes until pears are soft and lightly browned. Remove from oven and drizzle with a little more maple syrup, if desired.
Options: Add walnuts to the hollowed out portion before baking. This would add some protein and healthy fats to slow the sugar rush from the fruit and natural sugars. Note – Cinnamon also helps to balance blood sugar levels.
