Vickie Dickson: Yong, welcome to Unjaded! It’s so nice to have you here.
Yong Pratt: It’s so lovely to be here. Thank you so much for the invitation.
Vickie: You’re a projector, and we love invitations around here. Can you tell me a little bit about your Human Design journey?
Yong: Absolutely. I’m a 4/6 Emotional Projector, and my experiment with Human Design started about five or six years ago. At first, I have to admit I was disappointed to find out I was a Projector. I had been living my life like a Manifesting Generator—doing all the things, burning the candle at both ends. When I discovered I was designed to wait for invitations and recognition, it was a major shift. But over time, unlearning what wasn’t mine and leaning into what truly is has been profoundly liberating.
Vickie: What was the biggest revelation for you in that transition?
Yong: The biggest thing was recognizing how much of my life was spent trying to keep up with Generator energy. I’d spent 17 years running a brick-and-mortar performing arts studio, constantly pushing and forcing. When I began deconditioning, I realized that my true power lies in stepping back, allowing, and guiding others through their energy. It’s not been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding.
Vickie: I love that. And as we often say, the thing you’re most here to be is often the thing you’re most conditioned away from.
Yong: Exactly. That’s why integrating Human Design into my life has been so transformative.
Vickie: One of your unique gifts is movement—using it to help others embody their true selves. Can you share more about that?
Yong: Absolutely. As a former professional dancer and studio owner, movement has always been my love language. When I transitioned to the online space, I thought I was done with dance. But Human Design showed me that I needed to reconnect with my body to truly process and align with my energy. Now, I guide clients in using simple, intuitive movement to release societal shoulds and embody their true essence.
Vickie: That’s so beautiful. And I’m sure every woman listening can relate to feeling disconnected from her body.
Yong: Exactly. It’s about moving past shame and guilt and reconnecting with the body we have now. It’s transformational.
Vickie: One of the things I love about your work is how you incorporate ancestry. How does that play into what you do?
Yong: This has been a recent but powerful addition. Many of us carry the unspoken dreams and silenced voices of our ancestors. When we heal and use our voices, we’re honoring them and paving the way for future generations. It’s about recognizing that we’re not alone in this journey—our lineage is part of us.
Vickie: That’s such important work, and it’s a reminder that healing isn’t just for us; it’s for generations past and future.
Vickie: For listeners who want to start integrating some of your wisdom, what’s one simple practice they can do?
Yong: A favourite of mine is cross-lateral movement. Stand in a big X, reach across your body as if putting on a seatbelt or grabbing something off a high shelf. This activates both hemispheres of the brain and resets the nervous system. It’s a quick, effective way to reconnect with your body.
Vickie: That’s brilliant. And it’s accessible to everyone—no fancy equipment required.
Yong: Exactly. It’s about making small, impactful changes.
Vickie: You were part of Content by Design. What drew you to that experience?
Yong: It wasn’t just the Human Design aspect—it was the integration of content and strategy in a non-cookie-cutter way. I’d been following formulas for years that never felt aligned. Working with you helped me see that my content needed to reflect me. I reworked my website, created a lead magnet I love, and realigned my offers to fit my energy.
Vickie: Watching your transformation has been incredible. You really leaned into your design and made big shifts.
Yong: Thank you. It was freeing to realize that I don’t have to lead with Human Design to use it in my business. It’s a tool, not the whole story.
Vickie: For anyone feeling stuck or out of alignment, what would you say?
Yong: Trust yourself and take small steps to reconnect with your body and energy. Remember, this journey isn’t just about you—it’s about honoring your ancestors and paving the way for those who come after you.
Vickie: Beautifully said. Where can people find you?
Yong: My website, yongpratt.com, is the best place to start. I have a healing meditation that helps you reclaim the leading role in your life. I’d love for your listeners to experience it.
Yong’s journey is a powerful reminder that when we align with our design and embody our true selves, we not only transform our own lives but create ripple effects that impact everyone around us. Whether through movement, ancestry, or content creation, her work shows us how to lead with authenticity and purpose.

Vickie Dickson:
Welcome to Unjaded, Yong! It’s so nice to have you here.
It’s so lovely to be here. Thank you so much for the invitation.
You’re welcome! And since you’re a Projector, I have to say—invitation received. Can you tell me a little bit about your Human Design?
Sure! I’m a 4/6 Emotional Projector, and it’s been an interesting five or six years since I started experimenting with Human Design. Every day brings those aha moments—where I think, Oh, of course! Everything starts making sense when I see it through the lens of my design and focus on living into my highest potential.
I’m always curious, especially for Projectors—but really for all of us—what was the biggest thing for you when you discovered Human Design? Did you live most of your life as a Generator type?
Oh, absolutely! When I first found Human Design, I was introduced to it through a series of synchronistic events—a student of mine, a mentor, and a client. It was such an organic way to come into this world. But I have to be honest—I was disappointed when I found out I was a Projector.
I thought, Wait… I have to wait for recognition and the invitation?! Up until that point, I had been living like a Manifesting Generator—doing all the things, burning the candle at both ends, and always having multiple projects in motion.
When I learned about deconditioning, I realized just how much of my energy had been spent trying to be something I wasn’t. It wasn’t an easy process, but over time, it started to feel really good. About a year into my Human Design journey, I jumped headfirst into certification because I needed to know everything. I was at a crossroads—I had just closed my brick-and-mortar business of 17 years, and I had no idea what to do next.
Looking back, I can see how my Line 4 energy would have thrived with a plan, but I didn’t have one. So, there’s been a lot of unlearning and allowing—and while it hasn’t always been easy, it has been deeply rewarding.
I love that! And it’s so true—what we’re most here to be is usually what we’re most conditioned away from. That’s something we talk about all the time inside Content by Design.
Absolutely. And working with you these past couple of months has been so liberating because you see me so deeply through my design. As a Projector, being in spaces where I can be recognized is so important—it allows me to truly step into my gifts. It has felt so nourishing to be in that kind of environment.
One of your gifts is somatics, or more broadly, movement and embodiment. Can you talk a little bit about what you do?
Yes! And this is something we’ve talked about a lot—distilling my work into clear messaging. For so long, I struggled to explain what I do because I was pulling from so many different modalities.
As a former professional dancer and performing arts studio owner, movement has always been my love language. When I transitioned into the online space, I thought I was done with dancing. But when I started learning Human Design, I realized that the only way I could fully process and integrate what I was learning was through movement.
The challenge was—when I talked about dance, so many women carried shame and guilt about their bodies and movement. So, I started calling it movement instead of dance. It’s about inhabiting the body you have right now—not the body you used to have, not the body you wish you had, but the one you are in today.
That’s the heart of my work—helping women reclaim their bodies, their voices, and their power.
That’s so powerful. And I think every woman listening is thinking, Oh my God, she gets me. We’ve all been conditioned around our bodies in some way.
One of the ways you help women step into their power is by putting them in the leading role of their own lives. What does that transformation look like for your clients?
Most of my clients are solopreneurs—they’re wearing all the hats in their business, running their households, supporting their families, and giving their energy to everyone else.
When they come to me, they’re often indecisive, anxious, and disconnected from their own desires. They’ve spent so much time pouring into others that they don’t even know what lights them up anymore.
Through our work together, I help them reconnect with themselves—and once they start moving, they start remembering.
💡 “Oh, I forgot how much I love this…”
💡 “I don’t know when I stopped doing this thing that made me so happy…”
That’s where the shift happens—when they start trusting themselves again.
I love that! And one of the things that makes your work so unique is that you bring in ancestry and lineage healing. Can you talk more about that?
Yes! This has been a huge realization for me.
I was going through an energy alignment certification this year when the ancestry piece really dropped in. I realized that in my own lineage, the women before me never had the chance to use their voices or pursue their dreams.
It hit me—I am here to honor them by using my voice.
When I started speaking about this with clients, it always brought up so much emotion. Many of us carry the weight of our ancestors without even realizing it.
When we heal, we aren’t just healing for ourselves—we’re healing for the generations before and after us.
Yes! And as I’ve gotten older, especially since becoming a grandmother, that has become so important to me. We are doing this work for our entire lineage.
Exactly. And when my clients start using their voices, it creates a ripple effect—their children, partners, and communities start shifting too. One woman standing in her power can change everything.
That’s the revolution we need right now.
100%.
So now let’s talk about the impact you’re making in your business. You’ve been an entrepreneur for a long time. What drew you into Content by Design?
For me, it wasn’t about learning more Human Design—I already knew that. It was about integrating it into my business in a way that worked for me.
I had spent so many years following strategies that didn’t align with my energy. I did all the “right” things, but they never worked the way they were supposed to.
What made Content by Design different was that it wasn’t a cookie-cutter approach. Instead, I was able to build my business based on MY energy—and that changed everything.
I’ve seen such a transformation in you. You rewrote your website, refined your offers, built an email sequence, and even created a holy grail offer. It’s been amazing to watch.
Yes! And what’s so liberating now is that I feel like I finally have the big foundational pieces in place—which means I can focus on creating from a place of joy instead of pressure.
That’s the magic. Thank you so much for being here and for sharing your incredible work with us.
Thank you, Vickie! It’s been such an amazing journey.
