Many entrepreneurs with a Human Design second-line profile (like FM) struggle with self-recognition. Their gifts come so naturally that they often don’t realize how valuable they are—or they assume that what they know is obvious to everyone. This leads to:
✅ Feeling unseen or unappreciated
✅ Struggling to define their genius
✅ Using vague or overly complex messaging
✅ Second-guessing their unique insights
When FM joined Content by Design, she was using spiritual jargon that made it unclear what she actually did for clients. Instead of drawing in the right people, her content was confusing her audience and preventing them from understanding the transformation she offered. She felt like she was on a hamster wheel, never knowing the ‘right’ thing to say. Content creation was exhausting.
Understanding FM’s Human Design chart helped reveal her natural strengths and challenges. Here’s what stood out:
🔹 Channel 43/23 (Genius to Freak)
This channel gives FM the ability to see things differently than most people—but it can also make her feel misunderstood. If she doesn’t explain her insights in a clear way, when she’s been invited to do so, they might not land with her audience.
🔹 Six Undefined Centers
FM absorbs a huge amount of energy from others and reflects it back with wisdom. However, this can make her prone to overthinking and questioning herself—especially in her messaging.
🔹 Projector Strategy: Waiting for the Invitation
As a Projector, FM isn’t designed to “chase” opportunities. She thrives when she’s invited to share her insights. But what many Projectors forget is that people following them online, reading their emails, or engaging with their content are already inviting them in—they just need to step into that role.
By aligning her messaging with her Projector strategy and second-line gifts, FM made key shifts in how she approached her content:
✅ Owning Her Gifts – Instead of doubting herself, she started trusting her unique insights and sharing them confidently.
✅ Assuming the Invitation – She recognized that her audience wanted to hear from her and stopped waiting for explicit invitations.
✅ Reframing Her Business Model – She’s transitioning away from exhausting in-person work to an online model that allows her to share her wisdom without burnout.
Once FM fully embraced her Human Design, she made simple but powerful changes to her content strategy:
✔️ Simplified Her Language – She dropped the complex spiritual jargon and started explaining her work in a way that was clear and compelling to her audience.
✔️ Shifted Her Positioning – Instead of trying to fit in with other Human Design practitioners, she leaned into her unique insights and the way she naturally helped people.
✔️ Created Content from Her Strengths – Her Gate 64 gift (removing confusion for others) became the foundation of her content. She’s pursuing teaching other practitioners in her field how to do what comes so naturally to her that they tend to stumble through.
These small but strategic changes transformed her content and business:
🚀 Content became FUN to create – No more overthinking or struggling with what to say.
🚀 Her audience started engaging more – People finally understood what she offered.
🚀 She started receiving invitations – FM’s dream was to be invited to speak at retreats, and as soon as she aligned her messaging, those invitations started rolling in.
If your content isn’t bringing in the clients and income you know it should, it’s time to shift your messaging.

Leveraging Human Design for Messaging: A Case Study of a 2/4 Mental Projector
Want to see how leveraging your Human Design for messaging works in real life? Today, we’re diving into a case study of a 2/4 Mental Projector—we’ll call her FM. She was a participant in the last round of Content by Design, and her transformation was remarkable.
When FM first joined the live round, she felt like many second lines do—unseen, unclear on her messaging, and unsure of her unique gifts. She was using a lot of what I call spiritual gobbledygook, making it difficult for her audience to understand the problem she solves and how she helps them.
Like many second lines, she was second-guessing herself, questioning her genius, and believing she had nothing unique to offer. She works in the Human Design and spiritual space but struggled to differentiate herself.
Let’s take a deeper look at her design, how we worked together to uncover her message, and how aligning her content with her Human Design changed everything.
FM has the 43/23 channel, often called Genius to Freak in traditional Human Design. While some people with this channel feel like it’s a burden, it’s actually an incredible gift.
People with this channel see the world in a unique way—but others might not immediately understand their insights. These insights drop in, seemingly out of nowhere, but they need to be invited to share them. This is projected energy, which means that if the invitation isn’t there, the message won’t land.
As a projector, FM needs to be invited. But here’s a tip for all projectors:
💡 If someone follows you, joins your email list, or listens to your podcast, assume the invitation. They want to hear from you.
Recognition starts with YOU. This is why I often have my projector clients do mirror work, actively recognizing themselves:
If you’re a projector, give yourself that recognition first.
Because FM paid in full for Content by Design, she received a free reading with me. One of the biggest takeaways from that reading?
👉 Her design isn’t just for her—it’s for the other.
This was a powerful shift. Many entrepreneurs are told to “make their content about their audience, not themselves.” But for some designs, self-expression is actually the key to their message.
💡 FM’s design, however, is about bringing others along with her insights.
She has six undefined centers, meaning she absorbs a lot from others and reflects back wisdom. Her circuitry shows someone meant to stand in her own power, follow her own insights, and share them with those who invite her.
She also has the 64/47 channel, which is about turning life experiences into lessons for others. Again, it’s all about serving the other.
A major theme for FM in Content by Design was learning to trust her genius.
💡 As a 2/4, she had a natural gift she couldn’t see in herself.
Throughout the program, I watched her grow in confidence, start showing up in her business differently, and own her expertise—even without having “all the certifications.”
🚀 The shift: Instead of trying to prove herself, she started standing in her unique genius.
When she embraced this, everything changed:
✅ Content creation became easier and more fun—no more forcing it.
✅ People started engaging with her posts—because her energy was different.
✅ She stopped trying to compete with other Human Design practitioners.
Initially, FM believed she had to lead with Human Design because that’s what she was trained in. But when she shifted her message to highlight her own unique way of working, she felt authentic—and her audience responded.
She realized that Human Design could be a part of what she does, but it wasn’t the thing she had to lead with.
Her Gate 64 is all about removing confusion for others, which fits perfectly with her Mental Projector energy. She’s here to bring clarity to others—but she won’t always have it for herself, and that’s okay.
FM is a 2/4 Mental Projector—which means she builds community naturally, but she also needs time away from people to recharge.
Before Content by Design, she was feeling drained. She had built a community-based business with lots of in-person work, but it was wearing her down.
💡 Projectors aren’t meant to be in group energy all the time.
They’re here to pop in, share their magic, and then leave. They work best in focused bursts, not constant engagement.
Her dream business model?
👉 Being invited as a speaker at retreats.
👉 Teaching practitioners her methods.
👉 Popping in, sharing her insights, and popping out.
She had been accepting every opportunity that came her way because people saw her gifts before she did. As a second line, she was constantly responding to what others saw in her—but none of it truly lit her up.
Once she aligned her business with what she actually wanted, everything clicked.
If your content isn’t bringing you clients, if you’re not making enough money, and if you feel like you’re missing something—it’s time to fix it.
