Understanding your Human Design gives you the ability to improve your creativity effortlessly. Here we’re uncovering how creativity can be accessed by understanding your emotional centre.
If you have a defined Emotional Solar Plexus, you are what’s considered an “Emotional Authority” in Human Design. Click on the link to learn more about how this affects not only your creativity, but also your decision making.
Here’s what having an Emotional Authority looks like in your Human Design chart:
You have an Emotional Wave in your Human Design
What this means is that your emotions will operate in some sort of a wave and you’ve probably, at least once in your life, been accused of being moody or in a mood or too low or too high or some other version of not ok.
You are SUPPOSED to experience your emotions fully.
This is your design.
After going into the rabbit hole that is Human Design, I started to hear other people with defined Emotional centres raving about their creativity and how it coincides with their wave. I was gobsmacked. I had no idea how they did this!!
Improving Creativity with Your Emotional Wave
I remember sitting in a Human Design mastermind last year and hearing people rave about how much they love their wave because it brings out their creativity like nothing else!! It seemed like it was all unicorns and magic wands. There I’d sit, having plummeted to the depths of my wave over my husband buying the wrong almond milk thinking …. Seriously? There’s a good side to this wave thing?
I hated my wave. Truly.
For 3 years, I’ve tracked my wave (not meticulously but more or less). I’ve paid attention to how it relates to my root pulse and my hormone cycle. Still, I have not been able to make the correlation to my creativity.
Until yesterday.
What we know about ‘the wave’ is this; When we’re low in the wave, it’s time to dial up the self care. The thing is, we tend to think of self care as bubble baths and candles. We look at it almost as a reward, some little external bone we toss ourselves when we have the time.
What it is, is truly caring for ourselves. Taking the time to process emotions, in my opinion, is the pinnacle of self care.
Yesterday, my wave hit me hard, due to an expectation that wasn’t met (my wave is the 41/30). As I grunted and grumbled, I walked ferociously, allowing energy to move through my body with every step. I needed to MOVE, and move I did.
I processed the frustration that was coming up, breathed deeply, and really had a good talking to myself.
Why did this need to be such a big deal? (it didn’t) What is the story I’m telling myself around ……..? How can I change that story to find peace with this? Did it really mean anything? Was I thinking about things that don’t matter (theme song of the undefined head)?
This particular wave dissipated quickly, probably because I took the time to process it. I stayed in this contemplative space for most of the evening, doing yoga, reading a book, lighting candles and just sitting with my thoughts for a few moments before bed.
This morning WHAMMO!!!
My creativity unleashed itself on me and I’ve been creating like a machine all day.
It started with my morning walk where I was listening to podcasts and getting so many things to respond to that as I was creating posts, I couldn’t type fast enough on my phone to capture them all.
I actually found myself saying (GASP), “I love my wave now!!!”
I’m sure I’ll get wavy and hate it again because that’s what we do, but hey! I’ll gladly take this one as a win.
There are 4 types of Emotional Waves in Human Design
The Source wave is just what you think it would be. This is the energy that gets the emotional waves started. It’s the source of all waves. This is all about bonding and intimacy and it’s a pretty even keeled emotional wave, as far as waves go. This wave is triggered by someone else in relationship to you.
Human Design Individual Wave
The Individual Waves include channels 12/22 and 39/55. People with these channels defined often experience deep melancholy as part of their design. They’ll regularly experience highs and lows in their moods as a natural part of life. Music is often important to people with one of these channels defined.
Human Design Tribal Wave
The Tribal Waves include channels 19/49, 59/6 and 40/37. This wave responds to physical touch and is based on having your needs met – or not. These waves ratchet up over time and then explode. There’s a slow climb where something that’s annoying you, or a need that’s unmet continues to bother you with tension building until you explode – and then it’s over.
Human Design Collective Wave
The Collective Waves include channels 41/30 and 35/36. These waves will feel more like a restlessness perhaps. Something needs to change, they scream! They feature a sudden drop, based on a failure to meet an (often unrealistic) expectation. This wave has high highs and low lows. Key here is entering into things just for the experience, without expectation. This is my wave and all I can say is; Good luck with that! 😝
About half of the population is emotionally defined. Chances are if you don’t experience your emotions in waves, someone you spend a great deal of time with does!
If you have an undefined Emotional Solar Plexus, you’ll amplify these emotions. Your mission, should you accept, is to decondition yourself to the point that you are aware when this is happening and you know to step away, breaking auric space.
But that’s a conversation for another day.
