Should you go KETO?

The KETO bandwagon is filled with women who are being disappointed once again by a ‘miracle weight loss solution’

It’s a solid enough concept but as with anything that becomes popular, there are a lot of folks simply eating scads of fat and protein and calling it KETO. They cheat often (innocently) so are not actually in ketosis at all.

This can leave them feeling like a failure (everyone around me loses weight on KETO, why can’t I??) When not done well, it’s a diet that can leave a lot to be desired in terms of digestive health, bloating, bad breath, poor skin health, damage to the endocrine system, and more.

There IS a better way.

Did you know that you can reduce simple carbohydrates and remove sugars without labelling it and it still works? I kid you not!

Simply (and I don’t mean it’s simple !) removing sugars from your diet and a lot of the packaged foods that you’re consuming will go a long way to helping you to lose weight and keep it off for the long haul. You don’t have to call it anything at all to have it work for you!

These packaged and convenience foods also tend to drain us of energy so you will find that as you continue reducing them, your energy levels begin to return to normal and you start to feel better. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

Fact is: MOST women that I see are not eating enough protein and healthy fats. It’s definitely a thing.

Fact is: MOST women that I see do not need another extreme in their lives. They’re looking for moderation, balance, and ease over black and white choices and hardass diets to manage.

Let’s start here.

  • add more vegetables
  • add more water
  • reduce or remove packaged foods
  • remove as many sugars as possible
  • add healthy fats like nuts, seeds, avocado
  • add lean proteins – grass fed meats, eggs, wild caught fish

I promise you, when you begin to give your body the nutrients it requires, it will respond by coming into alignment with a healthier weight. You do not need to beat yourself up or eat a diet that has you continually thinking about your next cheat day.
