Human Design Gate 61 is The Gate of Inner Truth. With this gate defined, you’re under pressure to find the answers to all of life’s unknowns. The nicest way I ever heard this gate described was that it’s the gate of wonder, and I love that sentiment. Instead of feeling pressure to get to the bottom of things, the highest expression of this gate is to look at things with a sense of wonder. Get curious and see what changes for you.

Let go of your need to rationalize and just allow the mysteries to unravel, if you can.

Location of Gate 61 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 61 is located in the Head center of the bodygraph or human design chart.  

The 61-24 Channel and Gate 61’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

This gate is part of the Channel of Awareness (Channel 61-24).

You inspire others to see things in a different light. This is Projected energy so it lands best when you’ve been asked to share. You’re a thinker, that’s for sure. Because you are under so much pressure to get to the root of things, to find a different way of looking at things, and to rationalize, you have a great need for silence.

You MUST find ways to shut your brain off from time to time.

Tapping into Gate 61’s Energy

How does Gate 61 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that reverent energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 61 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Head Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Defined Gate 61 in a Defined Head Center

If Gate 61 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You’re someone who wrestles with trying to know the unknown.

Defined Gate 61 in an Undefined Head Center

If Gate 61 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has gate 24 (The Gate of Rationalisation), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 61

If Gate 61 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined.

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 61

The shadow of Gate 61, according to Gene Keys, is psychosis. This is one of the gates of madness in Human Design because it puts so much mental pressure on the individual who has it.

Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains that Gene Key 61 moves from psychosis, through inspiration, into sanctity.

Other words for sanctity are reverence, grace and virtue.

I love the word reverence here, especially. When we think of Gate/Gene Key 61 being all about Inner Truth and Wonder and then contemplate its highest expression being that of reverence, it comes alive somehow. 

A personal exercise for Gate 61 awareness

When was the last time I allowed myself to be in awe and wonder around the unknown rather than anxious or overwhelmed?
