Human Design Gate 56 is The Gate of Stimulation. In Human Design circles, it’s referred to as the gate of the storyteller. People with this gate are naturally gifted at transforming their personal experiences into story in order to stimulate the emotions of others.

Gate 56 is located in the Throat center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 11-56 Channel and Gate 56’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

This gate is part of the Channel of Curiosity (11-56).
With this channel defined, your life is really all about the journey you’re on. You’ll naturally stimulate others, through stories and anecdotes of your life experiences. You have a knack for language. You have an endless curiosity for new ideas and an abstract way of looking at life. 

Tapping into Gate 56’s Energy

How does Gate 56 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that storyteller energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 56 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Throat Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Defined Gate 56 in a Defined Throat Center

If Gate 56 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You are a gifted storyteller who can weave language in a way that moves others emotionally. You’re often hungry for ideas.

Defined Gate 56 in an Undefined Throat Center

If Gate 56 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has gate 11 (The Gate of Ideas), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 56

If Gate 56 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined.

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 56

The shadow of Gate 56, according to Gene Keys, is distraction. We distract ourselves in all manner of ways and it keeps us from experiencing the gift of this gate (or Gene Key) which is enrichment. How would our lives be enriched if we let go of our distractions? 
Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains that Gene Key 56 moves from distraction, through enrichment, into intoxication. Other words for intoxication (in this context) are ecstasy, euphoria, and rapture. 

A personal exercise for Gate 56 awareness

When was the last time you allowed yourself to narrate something in your life? How are you cataloging your stories? It’s time!
