Introduction to Human Design Gate 36 and Gene Key 36

Human Design Gate 36 is the Gate of Crisis. In Gate 36 lives Evel Knieval energy. If this is defined for you, you’re here for the experience. Ra Uru Hu, the founder of Human Design, said that this gate is the energy of, “All’s well that ends.” NOT, “All’s well that ends well.” 

“All’s well that ends.” 
You just need to have the experience. It’s how you learn, through change and through crisis. You’ll naturally experience a wide range of emotions, deep lows and high highs, as you move through life. Trigger may be your middle name. 🥴

Location of Gate 36 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 36 is located in the Solar Plexus center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 35-36 Channel and Gate 36’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

This gate is part of the Channel of Transitoriness (Channel 35-36). It’s often referred to as “The Jack of all Trades” channel. It’s Collective Energy and is a Manifested channel, therefore, it initiates or gets things started.

If the whole channel is defined for you, you are here for the experience, and experience it you will. You’ll learn through your experiences. Key for your happiness and satisfaction is to let go of expectations and have the experience just for the sake of having it.
With this channel defined, your emotions will come in waves with high highs and low lows. You’ll feel a pressure for something, anything, to change and change now!!! 

Tapping into Gate 36’s Energy

How does Gate 36 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that adventurous energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 36 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Solar Plexus Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

If Gate 36 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You move through life experiencing ALL OF THE THINGS! You’re here for the adventure, more than anything else. 

Defined Gate 36 in an Undefined Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 36 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has Gate 35 (the Gate of Change), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 36

If Gate 36 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined. 

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 36

The shadow of Gate 36, according to Gene Keys, is turbulence. If you’re feeling at all overwhelmed by life, you may be living in the shadow frequency of this gate. You’ll experience mental, physical, and emotional turbulence and may get stuck in overwhelm because of it.

Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains that Gene Key 36 moves from turbulence, through humanity, into compassion. Humanity asks us to remain open, despite our overwhelm. He describes compassion as divinity embodied in humanity. Isn’t that beautiful?

A personal exercise for Gate 36 awareness

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it may be time for you to throw caution to the wind and do something wild! What experience can you have today that will shift your emotional state?
Go do that.
