Human Design Gate 30 is The Gate of Clinging Fire. People who can never be free from desires. This gate is the source of all yearning. Within it lies an insatiable desire for new experiences. There is a restlessness in this gate.

Location of Gate 30 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 30 is located in the Emotional Solar Plexus center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 30-41 Channel and Gate 30’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

This is part of the Channel of Recognition (30-41).
It’s a Projected channel that is part of the Sensing Circuit. This is one of the channels of the collective emotional wave in Human Design. It is the channel of the natural dreamer. There is a pressure in this channel that is often experienced as a restlessness rather than a true emotion (spoken from experience). People with this channel, whether they recognize it or not, long to feel. They need to feel in order to learn and grow.

Whenever you see this gate defined in a chart, you know that the person has intensity in their design. Don’t expect them to sit on the sidelines being soft and mellow. 

Tapping into Gate 30’s Energy

How does Gate 30 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that intense energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 30 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Emotional Solar Plexus Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Here are the possibilities:

Defined Gate 30 in a Defined Emotional Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 30 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You are fiery and passionate and you long to experience all of the things.

Defined Gate 30 in an Undefined Emotional Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 30 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has Gate 41 (the Gate of Contraction), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 30

If Gate 30 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined.

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 30

The shadow of Gate 30, according to Gene Keys, is desire. Yet this is what this gate is all about.
Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains that Gene Key 30 moves from desire, through lightness, to rapture. I love to hear him speak about rapture in his audio collection. Just the sound of the word is freeing. As someone with Gate 30 as a theme in my own design, I can tell you that lightness is not easy to come by.  Richard describes the desire of the shadow state as a looking outwards rather than inwards. Only when we focus inwards, can we experience the lightness and rapture that he speaks of.

What is your deepest desire? Can you find lightness in it somehow?
