Introduction to Human Design Gate 22 and Gene Key 22

Human Design Gate 22 is The Gate of Grace.
There is a pressure in Gate 22 to express feelings. People with this gate defined in their Human Design are often moody. The gift here is that you can move others deeply, through emotion. The curse is that you’ll often experience melancholy. If Gate 12 isn’t defined for you, you may have trouble expressing this depth of emotion.

Location of Gate 22 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 22 is located in the Emotional Solar Plexus Center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 12-22 Channel and Gate 22’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

This is part of the Channel of Openness (12-22).
It’s Manifested energy that connects the Emotional Solar Plexus to the Throat Centre. Channel 12-22 is part of the Knowing Circuit. Fun Fact: This channel is an acoustic channel. It’s said to be the channel of the left ear.

With this channel defined, you are here to move others deeply by expressing your emotions when the time is right. The timing is right to share AFTER you’ve informed others of your intention to share. This is manifested energy, remember, so it carries the strategy of the Manifestor, to inform.

Tapping into Gate 22’s Energy

How does Gate 22 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that emotional energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 22 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Emotional Solar Plexus Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Here are the possibilities:

Defined Gate 22 in a Defined Emotional Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 22 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You are a person of emotional depth.

Defined Gate 22 in an Undefined Emotional Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 22 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has Gate 12 (the Gate of Caution), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 22

If Gate 22 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined.

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 22

The shadow of Gate 22, according to Gene Keys, is dishonour.
Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains that Gene Key 22 moves from dishonour, through graciousness to Grace in its highest expression.

A personal exercise for Gate 22 awareness

Do you allow yourself to be ok with feeling things deeply or is it something that you try to avoid? Today, allow yourself to sit with whatever you’re feeling.  Maybe journal, maybe contemplate, but do that in this space.
