Human Design Gate 2 is all about receiving. It’s the most yin (feminine) energy in the human design chart and it longs to show others the way. Gate 2 is housed in the G Centre. If Gate 2 were a song, it would be ‘Go your own Way’ by Fleetwood Mac.

Gate 2 is located in the G center of the bodygraph or human design chart, and houses a quiet leadership that is often missed.  

The 2-14 Channel and Gate 2’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

Gate 2 is part of the knowing circuit 2-14 in Human Design. This channel is all about having a mission in life and being determined to realize it.  They innately know how their work can be used to influence others and they don’t shy away from this.

Letting go and surrendering to life is key for this tantric gate (and channel).

Tapping into Gate 2’s Energy

How does Gate 2 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that quiet leadership energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 2 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the G Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Here are the possibilities:

Defined Gate 2 in a Defined G Center

If Gate 2 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always.  It’s part of who you are.  You’re here to be receptive to the gifts the Universe has in store for you AND to bring them to the tribe through your unique influence.

Defined Gate 2 in an Undefined G Center

If Gate 2 is defined for you in an undefined centre, it is considered dormant.  It will be activated when you are with someone who has Gate 14 defined OR when a planetary transit defines Gate 14.  The themes of hanging gates in undefined centres often play out in relationships.

Ask yourself, where do I hold myself back from influencing others? Where am I not staying true to my mission? Where am I not allowing myself and/or others to surrender and receive?

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 2

If Gate 2 is undefined for you, fear not! You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits.  You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined. 

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 2

The shadow of Gate 2, according to Gene Keys, is dislocation. Other words for dislocation are disruption, disturbance, disconnection. The shadow is allowing yourself to step out of being – of receptiveness and surrender. It’s becoming disconnected from Source and from the heart of who you are. In the words of Richard Rudd (Gene Keys), “The Feminine is being. The masculine is becoming.”

Ask yourself where you’re in the pushing energy, the need to go out and make things happen.  The gift of Gate 2 is in receivership.  Surrendering to being all of who you are.

The world needs your leadership.

A personal exercise for Gate 2 awareness

Go through your day today surrendering to the Universe at every step. Allow yourself to be Divinely guided.
