The word detox gets tossed around a lot, I know. It’s something that I’ve been thinking a lot about lately, as we get deeper into this #lockdown situation and the online world starts to encroach on my sanity.
Typically, in my world, detox is all about the physical body. That certainly has its place, and I’ll talk a bit about it here.
However, I truly believe that we cannot have a fully effective detox if we don’t take the time to focus on what we’re feeding our minds & souls as well.
Lately, I’ve been allowing my emotions to take over, particularly when I’m spending time on social media. It seems that many of my acquaintances have become infectious disease specialists, law enforcement agents, judge and jury, conspiracy theorists (Full disclosure – I walk the line on this one too), and the like.
I have found that many days if I want to see compassion and kindness, I have to search it out.
Of course, not all days are like that but many days are. What I’ve started to do is unfollow, unfriend, and delete. I’ll simply ask myself “Is this the kind of information or rants you want to fill your life with? Would you enjoy sitting down for a coffee with this person?” If the answer is no, that button is getting easier to hit.
To be clear, I’m not talking about only surrounding myself with people who agree with me. I’m talking about surrounding myself with people who are capable of respectfully disagreeing.
People who, if they are concerned with people being at the end of their driveway, will do the sensible thing, the thing that can actually affect change, and go out and speak with said people instead of ranting on Facebook about it.
I’m just not interested in spending my time with nonsense. My tolerance for BS is getting lower by the minute.
This is a detox I can give myself.
I can choose to be mindful of what I watch on TV, the books that I read, the meetings that I attend (online), and people who I spend “time” with.
I can choose to be fully present with my husband while we are “stuck” at home instead of tuning him out (believe me, I’m tempted!)
And yes, I can choose to physically detox too.
Have you noticed that when you’re more disciplined in one area of your life, it’s easier to be disciplined in others? That’s how it works in my world.
To me, it seems that now is the perfect time to think about a physical cleanse. I’m at home. I’m not tempted to eat out. I only have access to the foods that I bring into the house every couple of weeks. What excuses could I possibly come up with for not doing this?
I can sleep well. Nap if I need to. Drink more water. Yes, I can do this.
The cleanse I’ll be working through is the doTERRA 30 day cleanse. It’s the cleanse that I love the most because it’s gentle yet effective. My clients see excellent results with it. It comes with all of the supplements needed to support your body through all 3 phases of a cleanse, from ridding the body of toxic waste to resetting metabolism, to restoring good bacteria and replenishing the system.
You can purchase the doTERRA cleanse kit here.
With your purchase, you’ll have access to 25% off all doTERRA purchases for a year and access to my VIP oil users group. Your welcome package will include recipes and all of the documents that you need to get started.
You can read about the doTERRA cleanse here if you’d like more info and of course, you can always reach out with questions.
I invite you to think about how you want to feel when all of this is over. Will you feel energized and uplifted or will you feel heavy and dragged down? A lot of that will depend on how you choose to spend your days now. Every decision counts! Let’s do this together.
