Introduction to Human Design Gate 64 and Gene Key 64

Human Design Gate 64 is The Gate of Confusion. With this gate comes a lot of mental pressure. This is the gate of abstract thinking and often people with it defined think in images. It’s all about making sense of past events and experiences.

Location of Gate 64 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 64 is located in the Head center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 64-47 Channel and Gate 64’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

This gate is part of the Channel of Abstraction (Channel 64-47).

It is Projected energy which is received best when it’s asked to share. People with this channel defined really need to stick to solving mysteries for others and not for themselves. If this channel is defined for you, your mind will often swirl through inspiration, doubt, and lightbulb moments, and back around again. You’re an abstract thinker, often gifted in the arts. You’re a born storyteller who inspires others by creating something new from something old.

Tapping into Gate 64’s Energy

How does Gate 64 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that creative energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 64 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Head Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Here are the possibilities:

Defined Gate 64 in a Defined Head Center

If Gate 64 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You’ll walk through life with more questions than answers and may experience anxiousness around not being able to make sense of things.

Defined Gate 64 in an Undefined Head Center

If Gate 64 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has gate 47 (The Gate of Realization), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 64

If Gate 64 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined.

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 64

The shadow of Gate 64, according to Gene Keys, is confusion.
Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains that Gene Key 64 moves from confusion, into imagination and then illumination.

Remember that the shadow states aren’t ‘bad’ and that the path isn’t always linear. Often, we experience the shadow, the gift and the siddhi at the same time! With Gene Key or Gate 64 defined, you’ll naturally seek to make sense of things. It’s how you walk through life. What you need, in order to make sense of the things you’re processing, is time. Time and imagination will bring you to an illuminated place.
