Introduction to Human Design Gate 34 and Gene Key 34

Human Design Gate 34 is the Gate of Power. In this gate, is an inherent selfishness, depending on what else it’s connected to, and that’s OK! What you’ll find with this gate is often being unavailable to others and that’s because you’re busy for yourself. Survival of the self lives here and a deep need to do things your own way.

Location of Gate 34 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 34 is located in the Sacral center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 34-20, 34-10, and 57-34 Channels and Gate 34’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

This gate is part of three different channels:
The Channel of Charisma (34-20): With this channel defined, you have a powerful presence. You move quickly through life, responding to the things around you, often without even being aware of it. You’ll always be busy! ONLY Manifesting Generators can have this channel defined but not all Manifesting Generators have it. You may be unavailable to others because you are busy with your own activities.

The Channel of Exploration (34 – 10): With this channel defined, you are here to be the most empowered version of yourself. By living your best, you empower others to do the same. You are here to behave powerfully and lovingly to yourself. You may be unavailable to others because you always follow your own convictions. 

The Channel of Power (57 – 34): With this channel defined, you’re powerfully responsive when you trust your intuition to guide you, and that intuition is FAST. When you can lean in and fully trust your intuition, you are the archetype of power.

Tapping into Gate 34’s Energy

How does Gate 34 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that powerful energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 34 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Sacral Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Here are the possibilities:

Defined Gate 34 in a Defined Sacral Center

If Gate 34 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You’re a powerful person who is here to be true to yourself, always. You follow your own path.

Defined Gate 34 in an Undefined Sacral Center

If Gate 34 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has any of the gates above mentioned (10, 20, or 57), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 34

If Gate 34 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined. 

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 34

The shadow of Gate 34, according to Gene Keys, is force.

Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains all shadow states involve force, and this gate is the crux of it. This shadow of force is always there, whenever we forget to trust life, allowing it to unfold. Gate 34 is said to be the gate of the spine and as such, it holds all of our tension and all of the ways that we try to force things.

Gate 34 moves from force, through strength, into majesty.

Strength is often about not doing anything. It’s about allowing ease into our lives. Majesty is our true nature. It’s who we are here to be when we fully embody joy and strength.
