Introduction to Human Design Gate 37 and Gene Key 37

Human Design Gate 37 is the Gate of Friendship. With this gate defined, your family and friends (your tribe) are everything to you.
You hold your community together.
In order for you to fulfill your mission, the proper agreements must be in place. They can be simple agreements like, ‘You go to work, I’ll care for the children.’ Or ‘You take out the trash, I’ll do the dishes.’ Agreements must be in place for you to feel secure.

You’re the one who oversees or distributes things for the tribe.

Location of Gate 37 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 37 is located in the Solar Plexus center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 37-40 Channel and Gate 37’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal.

This gate is part of the Channel of Aloneness (Channel 37-40).

Trust that your people will find you. Rather than continually trying to fit in, wait it out and see who comes to you. Family is the foundation of your community. Every relationship you have must be based on mutual fairness and the right agreements. In business, your contracts and deals will come from people you are friends or friendly with. In person business is best for you.

Tapping into Gate 37’s Energy

How does Gate 37 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that loving energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 37 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Solar Plexus Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Here are the possibilities:

Defined Gate 37 in a Defined Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 37 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You’re someone who values friends, family and community and for whom solid agreements must be in place in order for you to feel secure.

Defined Gate 37 in an Undefined Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 37 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant.  It will be activated when you are with someone who has gate 40 defined (The Gate of the Aloneness), defined OR when a planetary transit defines this gate.

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 37

If Gate 37 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined.

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 37

The shadow of Gate 37, according to Gene Keys, is weakness.
Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) explains that Gene Key 39  moves from weakness, through equality, into tenderness.

To me, this means that while agreements are important to you, the highest expression of this gift within yourself, is holding the people you love in tenderness. You may also need to hold yourself a bit more tenderly.

A personal exercise for Gate 37 awareness

Think of the agreements, both official and unofficial, that you have in place in your life. Do they still serve you?
