Introduction to Human Design Gate 6 and Gene Key 6

Human Design Gate 6 is all about conflict.
I’ve noticed that this description makes people bristle.
Nobody wants to admit that they love a good conflict or a bit of friction but think about it, friction is necessary. If we never experienced friction, we’d never be motivated to change anything.

Gate 6 invites us to find peace through conflict.
Think of this gate as the guard to all emotions and feelings.
It knows who to bond with, who to be intimate with based on how it feels, and it feels all of the feels.

Location of Gate 6 in your Human Design Chart

Gate 6 is located in the Emotional Solar Plexus center of the bodygraph or human design chart.

The 59-6 Channel and Gate 6’s Human Design Circuitry

Think of Human Design Circuitry as the circuit board that lies beneath the rest of your design. Circuitry is the thing that all other aspects are placed upon. It lays the foundation and the energies here never change.  

There are 3 main circuits in Human Design: Individual, Collective, and Tribal. 

Gate 6 is part of the defense circuit 59-6 in Human Design.
It’s a creative channel that longs for life to continue. It’s fertile ground, not just for babies but for co-creation of all kinds.
Channel 59-6 breaks down auras easily. People with this channel defined form bonds quickly. They’ll break down the defenses of others effortlessly. It’s generated energy, coming from the Sacral, so it is best used in response.  

Tapping into Gate 6’s Energy

How does Gate 6 show up in your chart, and how can you tap into that peaceful energy? Start by taking a look at your own chart to see if Gate 6 is defined (the line is colored in)  or undefined (the line is blank). Next, look at the Emotional Solar Plexus Center to see if it is defined (colored in) or undefined (blank).

Defined Gate 6 in a Defined Emotional Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 6 is defined for you in a defined centre you have access to this energy always. It’s part of who you are. You’ll experience conflict but it will always lead to peace. 
You’re here to feel deeply who to be intimate with and who not to be intimate with. Remember that intimacy isn’t only sexual. 

Defined Gate 6 in an Undefined Emotional Solar Plexus Center

If Gate 6 is defined for you in an undefined centre it is considered dormant. It will be activated when you are with someone who has Gate 59 defined OR when a planetary transit defines Gate 59. The themes of hanging gates in undefined centres often play out in relationships.

Without Gate 59, Gate 6 is often unable to break down barriers. Gate 6 is the ‘decider’ of who to bond with – or not. 

Accessing Energy with an Undefined Gate 6

If Gate 6 is undefined for you, fear not! 
You’ll have access to the energy of this gate when you are with others who have it defined and/or through planetary transits. You can borrow this energy by being in the aura of someone who has it defined.

Ask yourself:

Where am I experiencing friction in my life and relationships?
What is it trying to teach me about this relationship?
How do I feel about the people I’m bonded with?

Unveiling The Shadow of Gate 6

The shadow of Gate 6, according to Gene Keys, is conflict.

Gene Key 6 governs our emotions. 
She’s the gatekeeper.
If you’re experiencing conflict, it’s often a result of a deep fear of being controlled by someone else and not being free to feel your emotions.

Your challenge is to accept the challenge, and move through it, in order to find peace.

A personal exercise for Gate 6 awareness

Do you feel free to feel your emotions fully?
Are there people in your life who you censor yourself for?
Are there people in your life who you feel completely safe with?

Embrace the Human Design Gate 6 Mantra:

I feel my emotions fully. I know who is right for me and who is not and I honour this knowing.
